Review: ‘The Binding of Isaac’ is gross, offensive, and rather fun

Review: ‘The Binding of Isaac’ is gross, offensive, and rather fun

"The Binding of Isaac", the latest from "Super Meat Boy" developer Edmund McMillen, is gratuitously disgusting in a cutesy way, and I can't stop playing it.

Gaming Rundown: Indie PC titles of 2010 (Part 2)

Last week, I threw up some short blurbs about a handful of indie games that caught my attention last year. Today, I'd like to touch on a few more. Again, like last time, all of the games can be found at the Steam store.

Gaming Rundown: Indie PC titles of 2010 (Part 1)

I took a rather long hiatus, and I've got a lot of catching up to do. What better way to cover a number of different topics than to have more rundowns! As you might have noticed, I have an interest in independent projects, particularly when it comes to games and music. In 2010, we saw some great titles come out of the indie gaming industry - if it can be called an industry - as well as some not-so-great ones. In this installment and a later installment (likely to come some time in the next week), I shall feature some of what I consider the best and worst of 2010, as well as a few in between the superlatives. Also, for the sake of transparency, I should let you know that all of the following games can be found at the Steam store.

Yahtzee: Try Monster Hunter some more

Over half a year ago, I blogged about how much I was looking forward to the release of "Monster Hunter Tri", even though I did not own a Wii at the time. True to my word, I purchased a Wii shortly before the game was released, and I picked up the latest addition to the franchise the day it hit store shelves. I have been meaning to write a review of "Monster Hunter Tri" for some time, but I can never seem to pull myself away from the game for a few hours to do so. The game is so involving, there is always a handful of quests to do or necessary materials to find, I felt it would be irresponsible to review the game without getting a full experience of all that it has to offer. So it is with great interest that I saw that the game was the latest target of famous game critic Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw's video blog, Zero Punctuation, last week.
